Since last autumn the learning and information centre is available for pupils of the HAK, HAS and HLF everyday from 12:30 till 15:30. The learning and information centre has approximately 6,700 books, but also new media like videos, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs and audio books which can be borrowed free of charge. The library software, the WebOPAC, allows search, reservation of media, prolongation of the borrowing via the internet from every PC. Also current magazines, which are kindly available from the parental association oft he HAK/HAS Krems. It involves a spectrum from an innovative economic magazine about “Vinaria”, popular-scientific magazines up to “chip”, a computer magazine.

As a learning centre the LIZ offers several PCs, a place for laptops with access to internet and the school networks, printer, scanner and photocopier. During the opening times the pupils can learn, collect information, do home exercise, and work together on projects but also browse in books or magazines, play chess or relax.

Nevertheless, the LIZ supports not only the individual knowledge acquisition, but serves as an information centre as well as knowledge transfer. Many events take place here: School events such as project presentations and discussions, teachers conferences but also school lessons.

Especially impressive is the architecture of this room which is perhaps unique in Austria, so that our school has to show another highlight. Therefore, a film of information about business schools was produced here by order of the federal ministry.
