The HAK/HAS Krems pursues a high tech network consisting of a highly competitive fiberglass wiring as well as manageable switches.

Computers and telephones of the HAK/HAS Krems are in a structured wiring of the category 6 (tertiary level)
With the aid of eight floor distributors which are connected via redundant glass fiber cable with 2 gigabit/s a networking is realized (Secondary level). The central firewall-appliance separates the internet of the core- and directions net as well as from the wireless LAN (WLAN) and the notebook-classes. These are split by ten Layer-3-Switches in a virtual LAN (VLAN) per notebook-class.
Server Services
The network is administered by two efficient Windows-Server-2008-R2-domaincontrollers. Additional server services are a mailserver (MS Exchance Server with Outlook Web Access), three webserver (IIS, XAMP), one proxyserver (ISA Server), several database server (MS SQL-Server) and Fileserver with a total capacity of more than 10 TeraByte.
Computer
In five computing halls, in two economic centres (practice companies), in the language centre, in the library and as well in some other rooms of the school more than 200 modern PCs with DualCore processor, 4 GB of main storage (partially also 8 GB) and DVD disk drive are available.
Windows 7 Prof. x64 is used as an operating system.
Office MS 2010, Visio 2010, Project 2010, Visual Studio 2010, SQL Server 2008 R2, Adobe Master Collection CS4 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Flash, InDesign etc.), Google Earth as well as accountancy and mathematics programmes for an efficient work can be used on every PC.

Photo Studio
In the photo studio the pupils can develop their photographic talent with four digital reflection cameras (Canon, Olympus).
On a product table different product photos can be taken. Afterwards you work with Photoshop to design pictures.
Furthermore five digital video cameras (SD, FullHD) are available for filming in the studio.
The photo studio disposes of an adaptable background system, so that the studio background can be changed quickly and simply for different shootings.
